"A Far Off Place" is an awesom touching movie, following Laurens Van der Post's books "A Far Off
Place" & "A Story of the Wind", about two very different teenagers who must travel thruout Africa to escape the poachers who killed their parents, with the help of their African guide, Xhabbo. Naturally, they run into several problems along the way, including battling hunger and thirst, covering up their footprints, and their own seperate attitudes. The performances by Reese Witherspoon, Ethan Embry, and Sarel Bok are both outstanding and believable.
This movie can be enjoyed by all age groups. Kids, teenagers, and adults can enjoy the film equally. The relationship between Nonnie Parker and Harry Winslow (Reese Witherspoon and Ethan Embry) comes together wonderfully as they first find themselves hating each other and then growing closer as they must stay together in order to survive.
Recommendable to anyone who is looking for a beautiful, adventurous movie that you keeps you glued to your seat. As you watch these teenagers struggle to find the end of the sandy, African desert, you'll connect with their characters and get to know them. This, among other things, makes this movie equally believable and entertaining..
